ICLCD(8) System Manager's Manual ICLCD(8)

iclcdidentification compliant with license conditions daemon

iclcd [-Dn] [-i interface] [-p period]

iclcd sends hamdex identification frames using the system default callsign, see mycallsign(5). It will also listen for identification frames on the specified interface and record information heard in the heard(5) database.

In normal operation, iclcd forks a copy of itself and runs in the background. Anomolies and errors are reported via syslog(3).

iclcd is usually started at boot time, and can be enabled by setting the following in /etc/rc.conf.local:

See rc(8) and rc.conf(8) for more information on the boot process and enabling daemons.

The options are as follows:

Do not daemonize.
Do not send beacons, only listen.
Interface name to broadcast ident frames (default: ekiss0).
Period in seconds between broadcasts (default: 60).

System default callsign
Heard stations database

heard(1), ekiss(4), heard(5), mycallsign(5), hamdex(7)

The iclcd daemon was written for the HamBSD project by Iain R. Learmonth <irl@fsfe.org> for the public domain.

It is not currently possible to broadcast identification on multiple interfaces, or listen for broadcasts on multiple interfaces. It is also required that identification transmit and receive must be on the same interface.

This may not be enough to comply with your local laws regarding identification of amateur radio transmissions. This manual page is not legal advice.
